“The Thanks List” was created in the summer of 2018 with the goal of discussing music with people who are really passionate about it, most notably, musicians themselves. The name is a nod to the pre-internet days when we would discover new music by meticulously browsing the “thanks lists” of our favourite records and subsequently check out any band or artist featured in these lists. It would give us a window into their world and was one of the most efficient tools that we had to learn about similar artists in music genres that were less radio friendly.
Our goal, with this project, is to do just that: help our readers discover new music in the same way these “thanks lists” did for us. In the forms of in depth interviews, we invite musicians to share with us their experience as lifetime music fans, offering a platform to promote the music that they love and that is important to them. Hopefully you enjoy reading these interviews as much as we do!
