What were you listening to in elementary school? then in high school? (Your favorite bands/records back then?) How much of that music is still a part of your playlists today? How have your musical tastes evolved since?
When I was 5, I somehow discovered KISS.  I think I just liked the make up tho. I ended up getting a bunch of KISS records from people who I guess wanted to lead me astray haha.  I still have the same copies 40 years later haha.

Grade 7 and 8 I got into Metal thru my cousin Kent.  PRIEST, SABBATH, MAIDEN, CRÜE, OZZY, etc.

High school I got into Punk and Hardcore and Thrash Metal thru skateboarding.  Stuff you could get easily as I’m from a small town. MINOR THREAT, FUGAZI, MINUTEMEN/FIREHOSE, CRASS, CONFLICT, CRO MAGS, SLAYER, VENOM, METALLICA, CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER, YOUTH OF TODAY, AGNOSTIC FRONT, GBH, GG ALLIN, DAYGLOS, DEATH SENTENCE, BLACK FLAG, CIRCLE JERKS, RAMONES blah blah blah.

What beloved music do you share with your parents.
My parents and I share a mutual love for AC/DC.

What is the most impressive band you’ve toured with? The one that you just had to watch every night? Did you learn anything from them/by watching them?
One time I was touring for a couple weeks with the band ZEKE from Seattle.  Really intense band. They were a total assault. They sounded like that DWARVES album Blood Guts And Pussy mixed with Thrash Metal.  They were great and made many other bands look pretty stupid on said tour.

Is there any classic / universally acclaimed artist or that you missed out on when they first came out and discovered way later? Any artist that you didn’t like at first and learned to appreciate over time?
When I was younger I didn’t really care for all the IGGY POP stuff after THE STOOGES but now I love that stuff.

Which music genre do you listen to the most?
I like old Punk Rock like:
THE KIDS – First  3 LP’s, GBH, UK SUBS, THE SEX PISTOLS, TEENAGE HEAD, SLAUGHTER AND THE DOGS.

I like Oi! style Punk Rock like:
COCKSPARRER, COCKNEY REJECTS, LAST RESORT, BISHOPS GREEN, RED ALERT, THE TEMPLARS, THE STRIKE
And many more

I really like old Finnish Punk Rock like
SENSURRI, RATSIA, KOHU 63, KARANTEENI, KOLLAA KESTAA

CARL PERKINS, LITTLE RICHARD, CHUCK BERRY, BUDDY HOLLY, EDDIE COCHRAN
Stuff like that

Do you have a favorite setting or place to listen to music?
I like listening to music in my van on the way to work.  Early in the morning I usually have a clear mind/nobody around, etc.  Also I listen at work in the crane.

Five greatest hardcore EP’s of all time?
Impossible question/too hard/too nerdy.  I’ll just name a few records that I love that came out around the time I started getting into hardcore punk music. Early 90’s/late 80’s, that made a big impression on me and that I still enjoy today.

INFEST – Slave lp
NO COMMENT – Downsided ep
ANTISCHISM – Live In The Studio ep
NEUROSIS – Word As Law lp
DOOM –  Police Bastard ep
NAUSEA – Extinction lp
DROP DEAD – 1st album
BORN AGAINST – 1st ep

What albums have been on heavy rotation lately?
Today I was listening to UK SUBS Endangered Species and what I think is the most recent LAST RESORT lp. I also listened to a bunch of world music on CIUT.  CIUT is great, Toronto is a total shit show right now but at least we still have CIUT.

Is there a band that you’ve discovered live recently that blew you away?
Last year the band GIUDA from Italy played in Toronto.  Easily the best band I’ve seen in years. Like really really great I was floored.

Is there anything (new album, tour) you would like to promote?
I’ve been playing in CAREER SUICIDE since late 2010.  This year i started new band with some friends called PLASTIC HEADS.

We just started playing shows a few weeks ago and it’s really fun.  It’s like jacked up 70s punk rock type stuff. Still enjoying playing punk music somehow, it’s been almost 30 years haha.
